Eight Walkers and a Wet Dog

Just eight of the team was able to meet up in Fullerton for our final training walk before we head to San Francisco in a few weeks. We did add one canine member, Loki, Lisa’s pup who joined us for the walk and managed to wrangle a swim in Laguna Lake along the way. We had a beautiful – June gloom in July – morning for our short 5 mile walk along portions of the Fullerton loop. Our final destination was Lisa’s house and when we arrived the aroma of fresh chorizo, beans, rice and homemade tortilla’s filled our senses.  Thanks to Lisa’s friend Lilia and her daughter for the amazing lunch!

A quick dip in a very inviting and refreshing pool, armed with Lisa’s first try at homemade Sangria and we were all very happy pups!  Lunchtime conversation included wrapping up logistics and plans for getting up to Northern California for the walk and other adventures.  Lynne and Carole already on their phones planning out our meals. The day ended on the early side, with everyone having busy schedules…including Terri, who leaves on Sunday for her Hawaii wedding.  Congratulations Terri!  Before the last of us left, Linda stopped by to say hello and wish us well for our walk, sorry that she is unable to join us this year. She and Paula will both be in our thoughts as we walk. They’ve worked hard and trained hard with us over the course of the past two years – we will miss them on this Pink Bragade adventure.
