Brooklyn Bound

Eight team members are meeting in Brooklyn to do the touristy thing before the walk.  Six of us left late last night on non-stop red-eye flights.  Arriving on the sleepy side after being tucked in for five hours next to snoring slumberers, bags in hand, we arrived at our Brooklyn brownstone. Based on the luggage that accompanied us on this journey, it was comical to see our faces when we had a look at the three flights of narrow stairs to get to our rooms. Monday’s workout complete!

Training Tightens Up As We Get Closer

This past weekend most team members hit the pavement for some good long walks.  Topping the mileage list were Wendy, Leanne, Lori and Carole, who did an 11 mile hike in Newport Beach.  Though they started early, the sun was pretty well full steam by the end of the journey.

Other team members took to the streets along the strand in Redondo Beach, in Palos Verdes and around Fullerton.  Next Sunday, the Pink Bra-Gade’s final 20-mile walk in preparation for the NYC adventure will take the group back to Newport Beach (and the Statue of Liberty??)
